FRANCE - LOIRE
LOIRE
The Loire is the longest river in France and stretches
634 miles from very centre of France all the way to the
West coast where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
The river is lined with historic Châteaux and
vineyards and regions enjoy their own climate
and terroir, from the cool maritime climate of Nantes
on the west coast, where delicious Muscadet goes
so well with the local seafood and the off-dry strawberry
notes of Rosé d’Anjou and crisp appley Chenin Blanc
of Saumur to the juicy minerality of Sauvignon Blanc
from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. The region is also
famous for its Crémant de Loire sparkling wine.
