The Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and
just a few other special grapes is reproduced across
the world. Bordeaux is home to possibly the most
famous of all the great wine Chateaux. Lafite, Margaux,
Latour, Petrus and Cheval Blanc are just a few of these
giants of the wine world who are the unreachable tip
of a pyramid of over 6000 wineries. You don’t have to
look too far to find fantastic quality wines suitable to
place in your cellar for a few decades or fresh, fruity
wines ready to drink now with your roast beef!

Most of Bordeaux is dedicated to Red wine but the
very special and no less grand dessert wines of Sauternes
and Barsac which have benefitted from ‘Noble Rot’
which have intense notes of butterscotch, marmalade
and honeyed apricot. There are also light, fruity and rich,
creamy Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc based whites from Graves.
